Scripture of the Week by JoBeth Kested

Scripture for the week of October 25, 2015

JoBeth72Praise the Lord, all you nations. Praise him, all you people of the earth. For he loves us with unfailing love; the Lord’s faithfulness endures forever. Praise the Lord! Psalm 117:1-2 (NLT)

Everyone at one time or another suffers the wounds of failed relationships whether it is family, a spouse, best friend or a boss. The hurt, grief, betrayal, injustice and anger can be extremely difficult to deal with or overcome. We can spin our mental and emotional wheels endlessly asking the questions “Why me?”, “How did this happen?”, and “What if…?” yet never finding the answers to soothe our hurting souls. This scripture reminds us that God’s love for ALL nations and ALL people never ends and never fails. No matter our color or culture we will always find His arms open to receive and restore us in His love that will never end! No matter our faults or failures our circumstances or sorrows the promise and healing hope of the Lord’s steadfast unfailing love knows no barriers nor boundaries. Let us ALL lift our voice in gratitude with hope and Praise The Lord!

What Would Jesus Do in this Situation – by Beth Auman

Flower16We have opportunities to judge and be judged every day. Each and every time that we are confronted with one of these opportunities we can (1) Lay it at the feet of Jesus and ask Him how to pray or (2) Judge the person and situation ourselves setting the Word of the LORD Jesus in vain.

Matthew 5:21-22 (VOICE)

Righteousness is the reason Jesus has come—to make the people righteous through and through. He then begins to interpret the law of Scripture for them with this in mind.

21 As you know, long ago God instructed Moses to tell His people, “Do not murder;[a] those who murder will be judged and punished.” 22 But here is the even harder truth: anyone who is angry with his brother will be judged for his anger. Anyone who taunts his friend, speaks contemptuously toward him, or calls him “Loser” or “Fool” or “Scum,” will have to answer to the high court. And anyone who calls his brother a fool may find himself in the fires of hell.

Have you ever once considered that when God allows us to see something contrary to His Word. He is giving us an opportunity to co-labor with Jesus in His vineyard (which is the entire universe and all therein).

Many times in our normal everyday lives, God allows us to see with our natural eyes and hear with our natural ears the sinful nature of others. Especially in this the day of untruthful mass propaganda and social media. God does this to see if we will judge and condemn or offer what we see and hear back to Him as a prayer of intercession with the faith and compassion of Jesus our LORD.

Convicting others of their sin is not our responsibility. If we will all just stop for one moment and lay our personal soulish opinion aside, allow Father God through His Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us into all Truth (Jesus – who IS The Way, Truth and Life).

Ask The LORD how to pray for each and every situation or person. He may give you a Scripture to read over the situation or person. He may give you a brand new heart of compassion for that person whom you consider your enemy. We are after all charged Love our enemies.

Matthew 5:43-48 (VOICE) 43 You have been taught to love your neighbor and hate your enemy.[a] 44 But I tell you this: love your enemies. Pray for those who torment you and persecute you— 45 in so doing, you become children of your Father in heaven. He, after all, loves each of us—good and evil, kind and cruel. He causes the sun to rise and shine on evil and good alike. He causes the rain to water the fields of the righteous and the fields of the sinner. 46 It is easy to love those who love you—even a tax collector can love those who love him. 47 And it is easy to greet your friends—even outsiders do that! 48 But you are called to something higher: “Be perfect, as your Father in heaven is perfect.”

Whatever He says to do – do it immediately and watch Him move in that situation as only He can.

Stop bombarding others with your negative and fearful propaganda. Jesus came that we would have authority over every situation yielded back to Him.

Luke 10:19 (VOICE) 19 I’ve given you true authority. You can smash vipers and scorpions under your feet.[a] You can walk all over the power of the enemy. You can’t be harmed.

When God allows us to see something that does not line up with His Word – it is a gift that He entrusting to you, it is a test that He is giving to you. He is watching to see what you will do.

Proverbs 18:21 (VOICE) 21 Words have power in matters of life and death, and those who love them will savor their fruit.

There is a huge difference in saying – This is happening in our world and I feel Father God prompting me to pray – will you join me in praying for these people.

Or

(Hey yall better WALKEUP – The rulers of this generation are so stupid and they allowed this to happen.) Where is Jesus in that statement? That is pure hate speaking.

We must truly ask ourselves as the Body of Jesus Christ – Did (they) let all this happen or were we The Church too busy with our soulish, self-righteous judgment to unite our hearts in prayer. Did we forget that we can do all things in Christ?

Philippians 4:13 (NASB) 13 I can do all things [a]through Him who strengthens me.

We are to watch and pray. We are to stand and believe. We are to be the Church of the Everlasting, Never Ending Kingdom of Jesus Christ – Our LORD. King of Kings and LORD of Lords. He is watching and waiting for His Body the Church to mature and be who He paid such a dear price for.

Matthew 21:21 (NASB) 21 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will happen.

How are you going to react to your next opportunity?

I pray in Jesus Mighty and Matchless name that you yield the situation back to the LORD and stand in the gap for the situation. Watch and Pray, take authority – speak to that mountain and call to be cast into the sea. Call on your brother’s and sister’s in Christ to agree with you.

Be the Body of Christ – in Word, Deed and Truth.

Abba Father – I personally ask for forgiveness for each and every time that I have judged a person and situation. I am not perfect Lord, but You are. Lord, I want to see this world as You See, hear and perceive as You hear and perceive.  It is my will to line my life up to Your will and yield. I want to pray and stand in the gap for these situations with all of those who are willing to unite with me in faith.  You paid the ultimate price Jesus for us to have the authority. You were were born, lived a sinless life, died on the cross and rose again for us to walk in Your authority.  Please open the eyes of my understanding and lead me and guide me into all Truth (Eph 1:17-29) – In Jesus name Amen.

Lord, may we never forget Your Prayer and that our forgiving others has everything to do with our own forgiveness.

Matthew 6:9-15 (NASB)

“Pray, then, in this way:

‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. 11 ‘Give us this day [a]our daily bread. 12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from [b]evil. [c][For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’]

14 For if you forgive [d]others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive [e]others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.

John 5:19-20 (NASB) 19 Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever [a]the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner. 20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will marvel.

Scripture of The Week by JoBeth Kested

Scripture for the week of October 18, 2015

Jobeth-06But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” Lamentations 3:20-24 (ESV)

Do you ever struggle to find the faith to trust God in the midst of overwhelming situations especially when it feels like the cries of your prayers bounce off the ceiling and He seems to be silent. In the scriptures before these verses the Prophet Jeremiah describes in great detail his sufferings and that he feels like God caused it all. He was not afraid to talk to God about his disillusionment, frustrations and anguish. Then he reminds himself of God’s love, mercies and faithfulness in times past. How amazing that even though the circumstances have not changed, Jeremiah is able to declare with renewed hope that the Lord is all he needs. Take your list of problems to God today and pour out your hurts, doubts and fears. Then be encouraged with new hope remembering The Lord’s unshakeable love, unending mercies and great faithfulness to you always. Selah, amen.

Scripture for the week of October 11, 2015

JoBeth68God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NKJV)

Have you ever felt like you are running a race without the strength to go on or you are at the end of you rope without a clue for where to turn? There are some very powerful declarations of God’s provision for us in this scripture. 1) God is able. There is nothing that our God cannot do. 2) He makes. As the Creator God, He is able to bring anything into existence that is needed on our behalf. 3) All grace. Not just some grace or a little grace, but ALL grace which is His goodness and favor even when we don’t deserve it. 4) All sufficiency means more than enough. 5) In all things means ALL the time and in EVERY situation. 6) And, God promises abundant, overflowing provision for everything we face each and every day as we walk in agreement with His good and perfect will for us. May you discover all the grace and all sufficiency with the abundance you need for every good thing. Amen.

Scripture for the week of October 4, 2015

JoBeth62Because you love me, I will rescue you. I will protect you because you know my name. When you call to me, I will answer you. I will be with you when you are in trouble. I will save you and honor you. Psalm 91:14-15 (GW)

Isn’t it a wonderful feeling when you know you are loved? In loving relationships there is nothing we wouldn’t do for each other, especially when we receive a call for help. We will take food or clean a friends house in sickness, travel long distances to be with a hurting loved one and for some we are even willing to lay down our life in the face of danger. In these verses God declares how He responds to our love for Him. The Lord says that He will…rescue, protect, answer, be there, save and honor us. What an encouragement to know that the Almighty God desires our expressions of love for Him even in our weakness and imperfections. When we call out for God’s help in times of trouble He lovingly responds back to us and makes these promises to meet our specific needs just because He knows we love Him! Thank You, Lord!
