Scripture of the Week by JoBeth Kested

Scripture for the week of September 10, 2017

Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. Isaiah 60:1-2 NKJV

Is there anything more beautiful than the dawning rays of sunlight breaking into a new day over majestic mountains, upon rolling ocean waves or watching from the serenity of your own back porch? But, what does the glory of the Lord rising upon us mean? The glory of the Lord in this scripture seems to mean the promise of His loving presence that drives away loneliness, the comfort of His peace that passes understanding, blessings of mercy that triumph over judgement, and the goodness of His enabling grace bestowed upon us. There are times we all need the restoring hope of light to drive out the darkness of fearful times and the unexpected circumstances afflicting our souls. What an encouraging gift we have in the promise of these scriptures that even in the darkest times our loving God promises the arising light upon us with His glorious presence, comfort and sufficient grace for each day. Thank You, Lord!

Abstain By Beth Auman

abstainGod gave each of us free will. It is our right to do whatever we choose in this life. There are consequences that come along with these choices and it’s time to analyze our choices and make sure that we have chosen life and all that God has for us.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 (TLV)

19 “I call the heavens and the earth to witness about you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore choose life so that you and your descendants may live, 20 by loving Adonai your God, listening to His voice, and clinging to Him. For He is your life and the length of your days, that you may dwell on the land that Adonai swore to your fathers—to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob—to give them.

Some of you may say,”Beth, this is Old Testament.” Torah means Law of God. Actually it means the Behold The Highest One IS Nailed on a Cross and the Bible is His Torah from Genesis to Revelation. The Word Torah – if you study it out in the most ancient form (The Hebrew’s were the first to be given the Aleph Bet – this is truth).

torah(Tav) Literal Meaning: a sign, a cross Symbolic Meaning: a covenant, to seal

(Vav) Literal Meaning: nail Symbolic Meaning: “and”, to add, to secure

(Reysh) Literal Meaning: head Symbolic Meaning: person, the head, the highest

(Hey) Literal Meaning: window, fence Symbolic Meaning: “the”, to reveal

Some of you Refuse to see God’s plan. You choose not to embrace the Feasts of the LORD or recognize that there are many things that we don’t know and yet many things that He Himself wants to reveal to us. Even some who have received Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior – stop there and choose to participate in every pagan ritual since the calendar was changed by Constantine – because they never wanted you to know the Truth.

They never wanted the Jew and Gentile to become the One New Man spoken of in the Torah. They never wanted to honor Adonai and part of the Truth of Adonai was hidden. The early Church knew all of this and they operated in the Power that Jesus was born, lived a sinless life, was nailed to the cross, died and rose again so that you could know the truth and be free. October is the Month when The Word was made flesh and  Tabernacle’d with us. October is Adonai’s chosen time for the Head of the Year Celebration, the beginning of His new year and new cycle. Oh LORD, Open the eyes of all who are blind.

Not all choices honor Adonai our Elohim nor do they lead to Eternal Life with Him.

In my own life, I have seen how the participation in evil can get those who God may have chosen to do great exploits for His Kingdom, fail. I have seen the veil of darkness that comes over those who choose to call good evil and evil good. I have seen many look back and wonder why they continually seek God, going to church and praising Him, yet never walk in His Victory. Never realizing that the devil used an act of their own free will to snare them.

Can you at the very least think about the answer to this question? Why is this portion of The WORD of GOD so misunderstood? OR  Is it  completely disregarded by many for the sake of what they consider fun?

We are to Abstain from Evil (even the appearance of evil).

The definition of Abstain is to:

1. restrain oneself from doing or enjoying something.

2. formally decline to vote either for or against a proposal or motion.

Abstaining from Every Form of Evil is a free will act of Honoring God.

Therefore, if you participate in evil which includes Halloween (The practice of worshiping the Devil Note: You cannot participate in a satanic act and pretend to include Jesus as a part of your Evangelism.)

Jesus spoke to demons and cast them out. He did not dress up like them, give out candy and pretend to be them for a night. Nor did he play with Evil of any kind.

The other part of this abstaining is voting for someone who pushes the practice of Murder (Abortion)and lies). God is watching to whom we align ourselves.

The Good News is that Jesus said that there is a way to be free. There is an if clause to this freedom though and it is our direction from Him for our Free Will Act of Honoring God. Jesus Said: If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of mine. See this clearly – Continuing in the Word of God means choosing not to do things that God said not to do.

This is the Truth and The BIBLE Says in  John   8:31-32 (NASB)

The Truth Will Make You Free

31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

If you are not Abstaining from even the appearance of Evil then you are not honoring God. If your life is in chaos and you are not blessed beyond measure – you need to examine your life, yourself. God created you for a purpose and if you are still breathing, there is still time to fulfill your purpose.

Are you continuing in the WORD? Are you truly a Disciple? Examine yourself. Because one day – you will be Examined by Jesus and He will hold two books in His hands – God’s plan for your life and what you did with your life. Will the books even seem as if they are written about the person that God formed and fashioned in your Mother’s womb? The person that He had such great plans for? No matter what you think or believe at this moment of your life – you will stand before Jesus when your life here on earth ends and you go into whichever eternity that you will receive. Heaven or Hell. Jesus will hand out His rewards and those rewards will be according to how those two books lined up.

This applies to everyone. Personally I am most disappointed in those who call themselves believers in Jesus. Those who run to the Evil that the world has to offer. Evil movies, Evil motives,  Scary Practices, Teaching Evil to children, allowing their children to run to Evil,  aligning themselves with Evil, Voting for Evil. Not Abstaining from even the appearance of Evil.

Abba does not use the word hate very often in His Word, but He very explicitly says that He hates feet that run to evil, think about that for one moment when you want to run to that which He says is evil.  Oh LORD, please deliver these that run to evil. Deliver those who call evil good Lord and call good evil. Untwist these who are deceived. In Jesus name.

Proverbs 6:16-19Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

16 There are six things Adonai hates,
seven which he detests:
17 a haughty look, a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that plots wicked schemes,
feet swift in running to do evil,
19 a false witness who lies with every breath,
and him who sows strife among brothers.

Isaiah 5:20Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

20 Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who change darkness into light
and light into darkness,
who change bitter into sweet
and sweet into bitter!

If the LORD is in anyway ministering to you right now – please pray with me because the Good News of Jesus is that you can repent and as a free will offering to the LORD turn from your Evil and choose to continue in God’s WORD and be free.

OH LORD, I personally come before You and repent in Jesus name for anytime in my entire life that I have not abstained from Evil, even the appearance of Evil. Lord, Forgive me and I ask for you to open the eyes of each and everyone’s understanding. Lord, show Yourself to Each one. You are the Truth. Make it so real for each one of these who You LOVE, that there is no way that they can miss it.

LORD, I truly want to be one of those in Revelation 22 who eats from the Tree of Life and I choose by an act of my own free will to abstain from even the appearance of Evil in Jesus name. Amen

I encourage each of you to read the Book of Revelation Chapter 22 for yourself, out loud and ask the LORD if there is anything in your life that will prevent you from eating of the tree of life.

I pray in Jesus name that your life reflects Psalm 1

Psalm 1 (VOICE)

God’s blessings follow you and await you at every turn:
when you don’t follow the advice of those who delight in wicked schemes,
When you avoid sin’s highway,
when judgment and sarcasm beckon you, but you refuse.
For you, the Eternal’s Word is your happiness.
It is your focus—from dusk to dawn.
You are like a tree,
planted by flowing, cool streams of water that never run dry.
Your fruit ripens in its time;
your leaves never fade or curl in the summer sun.
No matter what you do, you prosper.

For those who focus on sin, the story is different.
They are like the fallen husk of wheat, tossed by an open wind, left deserted and alone.
In the end, the wicked will fall in judgment;
the guilty will be separated from the innocent.
Their road suddenly will end in death,
yet the journey of the righteous has been charted by the Eternal.

Love beyond Measure
