Scripture of the Week by JoBeth Kested

Scripture for the week of January 27, 2019

“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”’ Numbers 6:24-26 (NKJV)

Have you ever felt your face light up when you come face to face with someone you love? What a blessing and joy to be loved like that and so awesome to know that when God looks upon us His face lights up, too! These verses were God’s instructions to Aaron, Israel’s first high priest, and for his sons to pray over the people with the promise that He would bless them (vs 27). Our loving God keeps us safe in His protection. His also lifts us up into His grace and peace wrapped in His unmerited favor. No matter what the future holds or the difficulties you may be facing, fix your eyes on the Lord, knowing that you light up His face and He desires to extend blessings, grace, and peace upon you today. As believers, we are a royal priesthood (1Peter 2:9) and we can also pray these blessings over our homes and loved ones, too. Thank you, Lord!

Being About Our Fathers Business by Beth Auman

Embracing all that Jesus taught us proves that we are His true followers. When we embrace the truth, He releases more freedom into our lives. There is more freedom to be obtained for each of us.

Each morning when we awake we are to seek Him First. Mark 6:33- But what does that really mean and how do we go about seeking Him first.

Well, you may begin your day by saying out loud,”Good Morning LORD, what are YOU doing and how I can participate.

Life as we know it begins to change when we truly seek Him First. Our focus must be on Him and His work in His earth. When our focus is on Him and His purpose for our lives and not on ourselves, our lives change.

Leading a fasted life is seeking Him first everyday and being obedient to whatever He tells you to do. Laying down your will for His. Following the example of Jesus.

Luke 22:40-42 The Passion Translation (TPT)

40 There he told the apostles, “Keep praying for strength to be spared from the severe test of your faith that is about to come.”

41 Then he withdrew from them a short distance[a] to be alone. Kneeling down, he prayed, 42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup of agony away from me.[b]But no matter what, your will must be mine.”

This is our pattern. Jesus laid down His own life and said  42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup of agony away from me.[b]But no matter what, your will must be mine.”

So many times our focus is on ourselves and our problems. Our concept of prayer and fasting is on ourselves, our lives, our problems and ME focused. That is not the pattern that Jesus taught us. Our Praise and Worship song to Him must never be ME ME ME ME ME ME MEEEEE.

We are to enter His gates with praise and His presence with thanksgiving.  Psalm 100:4 You can pass through his open gates with the password of praise. Come right into his presence with thanksgiving. Come bring your thank offering to him and affectionately bless his beautiful name!

We should wake up and seek The LORD first, ask Him what He is doing today and how we can participate.

The time has come that we lead a powerful, prayerful and fasted life. We must all follow Jesus’ and do what He did rather than ponder what would Jesus do (WWJD) should be DWJD – Do what Jesus Did . He is our pattern. Our eyes and lives must be locked on Him. We must see, hear, listen and be obedient to act immeiately.

John 8:28  (TPT) 28 “You will know me as ‘I AM’ after you have lifted me up from the earth[a] as the Son of Man. Then you will realize that I do nothing on my own initiative, but I only speak the truth that the Father has revealed to me.

This is our example of being about our Father’s Business, seeking Him First and doing what Jesus did. Taking authroity over the earth, having dominion, being the Overcomers that lead a prayerful and fasted life for the Glory of God, our Father Alone.

So today just ask Him what He is doing in this earth and how you can participate. Ask Him to help you lock your eyes on Him and be about His business. Then and then only will Isaiah 35:1-8 be the prophecy revealed in Truth because that is our Father’s Business.

Isaiah 35:1-8 The Voice (VOICE)

35 Imagine the wilderness whooping for joy,
the desert’s unbridled happiness with its spring flowers.
It will happen! The deserts will come alive with new growth budding and blooming,
singing and celebrating with sheer delight.
The glory of Lebanon’s cedars and the majesty of Carmel and Sharon
will spill over to the deserts.
The glory of the Eternal One will be on full display there,
and they will revel in the majestic splendor of our God.

So, with confidence and hope in this message,
strengthen those with feeble hands, shore up the weak-kneed and weary.
Tell those who worry, the anxious and fearful,
“Take strength; have courage! There’s nothing to fear.
Look, here—your God! Right here is your God!
The balance is shifting; God will right all wrongs.
None other than God will give you success.
He is coming to make you safe.”

Then, such healing, such repair: the eyes of the blind will be opened;
the ears of the deaf will be clear.
6-7 The lame will leap like deer excited;
they will run and jump tirelessly and gracefully.
The stutterer, the stammerer, and the tongue of the mute
will sing out loud and clear in joyful song.
Waters will pour through the deserts;
streams will flow in godforsaken lands.
Burning sands and hardened wastelands will become pools, shimmering with life;
the thirsty ground will drink deep from refreshing springs.
Abandoned villages where predators once lurked will become grassy playgrounds.
Dry, arid land will turn lush and green.

And the road to this happy renovation will be clearly signed.
People will declare the way itself to be holy—the route, “sacred.”
Only those who are right with God
will be able to walk its pleasant path,
And nobody—no visitor, no dimwit—will get lost along it.

Seek the LORD first daily and lead the Powerful, Prayerful and Fasted life that He was born, died and rose again for you to have. Be the Overcomer that He called you to be and let’s be the Victorious People that He is coming back for. May we all follow the example of Jesus and be about Our Father’s Business.

Scripture of the Week by JoBeth Kested

Scripture for the week of January 20, 2019

I pray … that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe… Ephesians 1:17-19 (NASB)

Are you in need of wisdom to solve a baffling situation or revelation to grasp something beyond your understanding? Do you need renewed hope to see beyond impossible mountains too difficult to climb? Sometimes wisdom requires discernment beyond our awareness or experience. We long for the revelation breakthroughs of dawning truth with the renewed anticipation of hopes fulfilled that meets the demands of our circumstances. We are reminded in this scripture that to know our Father God brings the gift of His Spirit of wisdom and revelation. We can also expect to “see” a lightening in our hearts to KNOW the hope of His calling with direction and focused purpose for our lives. As His chosen ones, we can receive the awesome greatness of His power toward us who believe in Him. And, there is a wealth of glory that is His inheritance in us! May you know the greatness of His wisdom, power, and love for you! Amen!

Scripture of the Week by JoBeth Kested

Scripture for the week of January 13, 2019

When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16:7,9 (NKJV)

Have you ever known someone, or maybe you are someone, who tries to plan for everything and feels like everything must have a plan? Oh, how frustrating when all our well laid plans fall apart! At some time or another we all need to be reminded of the truth of this scripture, that we can plan and set admirable goals all we want, but it is the Lord that directs our steps. I am sure each of us could tell stories of sorrows with hidden blessings, of hopes lost with joys found or disasters that have lead to surprising opportunities or miracles. It is well and good to make plans to our hearts content; yet still be pliable and yielding to the Lord, trusting in Him to direct our steps. After all, we also have this promise that when our steps please the Lord, He is even able to make our enemies be at peace with us. Yes, Lord!

Call Upon Jesus by Beth Auman

When you cry out to the LORD, He hears you and comes to your rescue.

If you could only see with your eyes what happens when we pray. Help comes immediately.

The problem is always with our ability to recieve what He sends.

When we are in trouble and cry out to the LORD. Crying out to Him implys that we Trust Him enough to know where our help comes from.

So today, Honor Him and lay your troubles at His feet and Trust Him for the answer.

Watch for the answer. Listen for the answer and receive what He sends to you. Honor Him by Praising Him for the answer and give Him all of the glory. He is Worthy of all Praise, Honor and Glory Forever and Ever.

He Loves you and He will rescue you. Lean on , trust in and rely on His Word. Praise Him for He IS Worthy!

Scripture of the Week by JoBeth Kested

Scripture for the week of January 6, 2019

But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord. Jeremiah 9:24 (NKJV)

Have you launched into another new year seriously determined to accomplish some resolutions with the hope of patting yourself on the back at the end of this year? We often begin a new year evaluating our disappointments in ourselves; of weight gained or unfulfilled expectations of the previous year. With good intentions we try setting new resolutions with goals to do better, to be better and to feel better about ourselves and our accomplishments in the days ahead. This scriptures proposes a better option to focus our energy and efforts on the things that glorify God more than what might bring glory or praise to ourselves. By increasing our understanding and knowledge of God, His Word and His ways we can hope to personally experience His lovingkindness, mercy and goodness and then to also extend it to those in the world around us. What a joyous anticipation to know the blessing of God’s delight in the pursuit of knowing and experiencing Him more in this next year!

Own Your Testimony by Beth Auman

Own Your Testimony

Years ago our family visited a denominational church for a Testimony Service. We were really excited to hear the amazing things that the Lord had done for His people. Little did I know that this was a stepping stone and key for my own testimony and my ability to understand what the Testimony is.

Testimonies come through testing. You must own your Testimonies and share them. Testifying opens a door or portal for others to receive from the Lord. Perhaps not what you received though because God knows exactly what each individual needs. He knows us individually and provides for us individually and when our Testimonies touch the heart of another person, it opens a door of Hope where there was none. When we celebrate Him with others and are thankful for the amazing things that He has done in their lives, the door opens and His Power is made available to them.

God knows our motives and He moves in our lives accordingly through His Love, Mercy and Grace.

Each of these statements are true and I was really excited to hear of the good things that the Lord had done for the people of this denominational church.  A beautiful couple stepped up to the front and began to speak into the microphone.  Their testimony was that they had lived for the Lord their entire lives just as their Generations had. They were each saved early in their youth. Grew up in church, got married and had 4 beautiful daughters. Each of their daughters were serving the Lord and they were all so very happy and thankful to the Lord for their Blessed lives.

Well, I would love to say that tears rolled down my cheeks and that I praised the Lord Most High for His goodness toward these people. I did not do that. I was so mad and told God that I truly with all of my heart just didn’t understand. I thought that a Testimony was filled with pain and torture. That the tests and trials through fire brought forth The Testimony.

My Testimony is one of pain, abandonment, sickness, sadness and loss. I have walked through the fire of adversity and yes, I have the Testimony of Jesus Christ which Is the Spirit of Prophecy and have loved not my life unto death. I have literally almost died several times. I have Overcome by the blood of the Lamb out of the hand of the enemy.

The Lord was quick to point out that this is the difference.  These people came from a long line of Believers in Jesus Christ. Their Parents, Grandparents, Great Grandparents and Great Great Grandparents are all Believers and they nor their Generations submitted themselves to the devil.

Oh, my heart was pierced and yet I saw something that I didn’t see before.

Exodus 20:1-6 (NASB)

The Ten Commandments

20 Then God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of [a]slavery. “You shall have no other gods [b]before Me. “You shall not make for yourself [c]an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

Revelation 12:11 NKJV 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death

Truly, I had prayed to the Lord for my eyes to be opened clearly and see from His perspective. That night He ministered to me about owning my testimony and that others must own theirs. Our Testimony is of Jesus, His Love, His Sacrifice, His Rising again, His willingness to do all of this and that if we were each the only one – He would have lived, been crucified, and rose again just for one of us.  He sees us generation-ally as well as individually. When we have yielded to the sinful nature that we were born with, we must walk it out until we fully yield to Him.

I made the decision that day to lay down every single bit of sin and shame, my Testimony of Jesus was mine and someone needed to hear His Goodness toward me. I acknowledged to The Lord that those people had the most beautiful Testimony that I had ever heard and that I was angry at myself and was ashamed of myself.  I repented and asked for forgiveness because the good news of Jesus Christ was active in my life and although I had been such a sinner – He had forgiven me. I could not live my life feeling less than because someone’s family chose to follow the Lord. Oh to be able to stand before the Lord with your generations and proclaim that you have served the Lord as a generation. That was my goal and from that day I owned my Testimony.

Back to my reality. There are millions upon millions of people who don’t know Jesus on this earth right now. If you are sinner saved by God’s Grace then your Testimony is the Testimony that can unlock the Door (Jesus) for another sinner who needs to be saved by God’s Grace. You are a carrier of Hope for someone. You are a bright light for someone. If you have yielded your life to Jesus, Been Born Again, Crowned Him Lord of your life, you have a Testimony. Your Testimony must be shared and The Lord will give you peace about sharing His Goodness toward you. What greatand amazing thing has God done for you.

Lay down shame, sadness and regret and begin a Generational line of Born Again Believers in Jesus Christ. Trust the Lord that Your Testimony, though it may be a giant puzzle filled with ups, downs, twists and turns. You are His Masterpiece and He chose you. Your Testimony can bring freedom to another person.

It is my prayer that someday our Generations will stand before the Lord and that every one of them will live for the Lord and have overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony not loving their lives to the death. I have asked for the Salvation of my entire bloodline in Jesus name.

Ask for yours today. Take a step of faith and draw the Blood line of Jesus around your Generations. Take one Step at a time and Overcome by the Blood of the Lamb – Out of the hand of the enemy. No matter where you are right now, you can be an overcomer by the Blood of the Lamb and God will use your testimony to bring the Light and Hope of Jesus Christ to others. Own your Testimony and Proclaim it, someone needs to hear it.

I Bless each of you in Jesus name today and Praise the Lord for you.

Hope this GEM (God Empowered Moment) has been helpful. Made you hopeful and opened the Door – Jesus Christ over you. Step on through and Overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and by the Word of your Testimony.
