Abstain From Every Form of Evil by Beth Auman

Are you aware that there are things that God Hates? Yes, there sure are. When you stop to think about God and how much God Loves each of us. He sent His only begotten Son Jesus from Heaven to live here on earth, die a horrible death and rise again for our Salvation.

God didn’t make Salvation difficult. He made sure that His Word was written down, line by line and precept by precept. He literally told each of us all that we would ever need to know about what He likes and what He hates. What to do and how to do it. He gave us Feasts to Celebrate Him and told us how to Celebrate. How to honor Him.

God didn’t make it difficult.

Why then do so many people’s feet fun to Evil? For candy? For fun? For theater? For their own entertainment? God’s Word clearly says:

1 Thessalonians 5:22  (NASB) 22 abstain from every [a]form of evil.

That would include any form of evil. If it looks evil then it is evil and we as Christians are to stay away. We aren’t supposed to be running toward evil, God actually hates that!

If you do this then what does that say about your relationship with God? What are you teaching your children? God also says:

Isaiah 5:20 (KJV) 20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Ask God today how to shut that door to evil that you have opened and go thorugh Jesus Christ the Salvation Door. He is the Way, the Truth and Life, no man comes to the Father except through Him.

John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 10:9  (KJV) I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

What are your feet running to? If they are running toward evil then make better choices, Repent and enter into the Salvation of the LORD.

Jesus is LORD.

Blessings and Shalom,

Beth Auman

Scripture of the Week by JoBeth Kested

Scripture for the week of October 25, 2020

As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect. Psalm 18:30-32 (NKJV)

Are you frustrated with your imperfections, disappointed in the imperfect people in your life, or weary of this imperfect world? What a huge comfort to discover the realization that the ways of our God are perfect and to know with assurance that His Word has proven to be perfect, too. He is the protector and defender of all who put their trust in Him. He alone is the Almighty God above all gods and majestic Lord above all lords. There is nothing in this world more sure, more solid and more dependable than our God, The Rock. Our loving, compassionate and merciful God lifts us out of our pity puddles of discouragement, renews our strength and even makes our crooked rough roads into perfect paths of peace. Thank You, Lord!

Scripture of the Week by JoBeth Kested

Scripture for the week of October 18, 2020

And having chosen them, He called them to come to Him. And having called them, He gave them right standing with Himself. And having given them right standing, He gave them His glory. What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Romans 8:30-31 (NLT)

In your childhood memories were you ever the unwanted and last one chosen when teams were picked to play some athletic game? Were you uninvited and left out of some big event or overlooked for a that promotion you worked so hard for? What a comfort to read in these verses that God has chosen you and is calling you. He also frees us from all wrongs, sorrows and sins to be able to stand close to Him in His righteousness. And, having given us His right standing, our God goes on to declare that He extends to us His glory; the joy of knowing His favor, goodness and presence with us in the blessings as well as all the hard times. Lord, Jesus, touch each of the wounded places and sorrows of our lives with the power of your unconditional love to know that we have been chosen and called to stand in your righteousness and glorious grace. Our God is for us! Amen!

Scripture of the Week by JoBeth Kested

Scripture for the week of October 11, 2020

“There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides across the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, ‘Destroy them!’ Deuteronomy 33:26-27 (NIV)

Have you ever felt the heavy weight of discouragement in trying to stand in the battles for what is righteous, honorable and true? The word Jeshurun in this verse is often used instead of the name Israel, God’s chosen people, and also implies one who is straight, upright and just. Therefore, this scripture exhorts us that the God of those who stand upright and straight for justice, His chosen ones, He will ride the winds of the clouds across the heavens in all of His majestic power to come to your help. He declares that He is your secure refuge and that He upholds you close to His heart in the everlasting strength of His arms; defending you in battle and promising to destroy your enemies! Be encouraged, for truly, there is no one like our God! Hallelujah, amen!

Scripture of the Week by JoBeth Kested

Scripture for the week of October 4, 2020

Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Have you ever wondered how to find God’s will? What if the three things listed in this verse were the keys to discovering and experiencing God’s will? In the many tests, trials and desperate situations we face each day we all face the opportunities to choose how we respond to life’s difficulties. What if we would choose to rejoice in the Lords’s overcoming power instead of worrying? What if we would choose to pray in faith instead of yielding to fear? And, what if we would choose to give thanks for the opportunity to see God demonstrate His abundant provision for us instead of grumbling and complaining? In Matthew 19:26 Jesus said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” With His sufficient grace for today in everything that comes your way, be encouraged to rejoice, pray and give thanks that will set your feet on the path of God’s will concerning you. Yes, Lord!
