Shabbat Shalom

Shabbat Shalom – 01/14/2022

Many have been taught that Shabbat is a Jewish thing. That the Old Testament Concealed Yeshua (Jesus) and the New Revealed, Yeshua (Jesus).  When in fact it’s all about Yeshua (Jesus), who WAS and IS and IS to Come. The Truth is that God breathed 66 Books with instructions that He wanted to communicate with those of us that would choose Him.

Each Word breathed by God should be seen as valuable and instructional. Every single Word is about Yeshua (Jesus), only the seekers of His Heart will dig deep and discover who He is through the entirety of His Word. Shabbat is a Blessing designed by Him, don’t miss out.

Much of Shabbat is realizing that obedience is better than sacrifice. We are to obey His Commandments and realize that there is weight on every one of His Words and obedience to His Commandments is His expectation of us.

1 Samuel 15:22 Sh’mu’el said, “Does Adonai take as much pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying what Adonai says? Surely obeying is better than sacrifice, and heeding orders than the fat of rams.

Shabbat defined – Shin Beit Tav – to cease, to end, to rest. The word Shabbat is lined to the seventh day after the six days of creation – Adonai ceased, ended and rested. He set Shabbat apart, called it Holy and Blessed it.

We are all aware of the 10 Commandments: They are words that Adonai spoke and wrote Himself on tablets. Commandments that He thought important enough to speak directly to Moses for His people.

Exodus 20 Then God said all these words:

? “You are to have no other gods before me. You are not to make for yourselves a carved image or any kind of representation of anything in heaven above, on the earth beneath or in the water below the shoreline. You are not to bow down to them or serve them; for I, Adonai your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sins of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but displaying grace to the thousandth generation of those who love me and obey my mitzvot.

? “You are not to use lightly the name of Adonai your God, because Adonai will not leave unpunished someone who uses his name lightly.

? “Remember the day, Shabbat, to set it apart for God. You have six days to labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Shabbat for Adonai your God. On it, you are not to do any kind of work — not you, your son or your daughter, not your male or female slave, not your livestock, and not the foreigner staying with you inside the gates to your property. 11 For in six days, Adonai made heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. This is why Adonai blessed the day, Shabbat, and separated it for himself.          (bold emphasis added by writer)….

? 12 “Honor your father and mother, so that you may live long in the land which Adonai your God is giving you.

? 13 “Do not murder.

? (14) “Do not commit adultery.

? (15) “Do not steal.

? (16) “Do not give false evidence against your neighbor.

? 14 (17) “Do not covet your neighbor’s house; do not covet your neighbor’s wife, his male or female slave, his ox, his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

These are commandments, not suggestions. Not killing another human being is as weighty to Adonai as not honoring Shabbat. He rested after He finished His work. He also Blessed the seventh day and separated it as holy. He did this so that it (His Work) could produce. (Ponder this in your heart.)

Genesis 2:1-3 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, along with everything in them. On the seventh day God was finished with his work which he had made, so he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. God blessed the seventh day and separated it as holy; because on that day God rested from all his work which he had created, so that it itself could produce.

Many people through the centuries have placed worldly demands on Shabbat and tried to make Shabbat difficult to understand and religious.

Shabbat is simple and it is exactly what Adonai Himself ordained it to be, a blessed day that He calls Holy and set apart. A day of rest. A day to focus on Him and honor Him. It is so very simple.

It is a day to lay down all that you normally do as work and enjoy all that He has given to you. A day to relax and enjoy your life. On Friday Night when the sun goes down, light 2 candles and thank Adonai in Yeshua (Jesus) Name for all that you have and all that He has made you to be. Ask Him how to enter into Shabbat. Ask Him to draw close to you and tell Him with your whole heart that you want to obey Him in this way and that you need His help. Tell Him that you desire to learn about the blessing and holiness of His Shabbat. Worship Him and offer Him your whole heart and full attention.

Shabbat Shalom – Receive all that Shabbat is meant to be, All that Adonai created it to be and remember that Yeshua (Jesus) came that you would have life, and have it abundantly. Shabbat is part of that abundant life so enter in, Amen.

John 10:10 NASB 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and [a]have it abundantly.

Blessings and Shalom
