One Tiny Grain of Sand Inspired by Abba Father Penned by Beth R Auman
Once there was a tiny grain of sand that lived on the floor of the sea.She so enjoyed flowing from place to place. Her life seemed so free and fun.
Across the floor of the Living water lived an oyster that was filled with joy and peace. He loved his life within the Living Water and took great pride partaking of the Living Water when he was hungry, being filled and resting in the Living Water day after day.
One day there was a strong churning within the sea and an underwater current picked the tiny grain of sand up and carried her far far away from the place where she was living free and having so much fun. She found herself being swept into the Living Water.
When the strong current had ended, she was in an unfamiliar place. She cried out into the Living Water. Creator of the Universe, I am not having fun anymore," I am uncomfortable and afraid. Please send a mighty current and send me back to a safe place."
Of course the tiny grain of sand meant, please send me back to the fun place, the place where I am comfortable.Although that was not what her heart cried out to the Creator of the Universe.
A great oyster was peacefully setting in his place within the Living Water one day and he was joyfully partaking of all that the Living Water was providing. Within his heart he said, "Creator of the Universe thank you for providing for me. Is there anything that I can do in Your universe? What is Your plan for me? I partake of the Living Water and I would like to give. What can I do for You?
A great current came upon the floor of the Living Water one day and swept the tiny grain of sand into itself. "Oh thank you, Creator of the Universe she cried out. I am on my way back to where I came from where I will have fun. "
The oyster opened his mouth wide to partake of the Living Water and a great current pushed him back with a jolt. As he settled into the sandy floor of the Living Water he realized pain for the first time in his life. Something had gotten inside his shell and it was causing him great pain and aggravating him.
It was the tiny grain of sand. The oyster cried out to the Creator of the Universe. "Help! I am in great pain; this tiny grain of sand is hurting and aggravating me."
He heard the Creator of the Universe speak to his heart, "Oyster, you have been chosen to care for this tiny grain of sand. Did you not ask Me if there was something more that you could do in the Universe?"
"Yes, Creator, I did, replied the oyster. I will endure. Please be with me Creator as I endure this pain and aggravation. Lead me and guide me through this for Your glory."
"I will be with you all the way", said the Creator of the Universe to the oyster.
The tiny grain of sand stuck in the oysters shell cried out at first, "Let me go, Let me go! My place is on the ocean floor in the Living Water. Not in this dark cave! Creator of the Universe, HELP ME!!"
The oyster said, "Not so tiny grain of sand. The Creator of the Universe has a special plan for you and for me. We must wait together and endure together and behold what HE has planned for us together. We must dwell together and become His plan."
The tiny grain of sand rolled around inside the oyster trying to escape. Every time that the oyster would partake of the Living Water the tiny grain of sand lodged within the oyster causing it great pain and irritation.
The oyster would tell the tiny grain of sand. "Do not rebel. I am part of your refinement. You cause me great pain when I partake of the Living Water which has always been my joy to bring glory to the Creator of the Universe for His provision. Who would have ever thought that your becoming which the Great Creator of the Universe has planned for you would cause me, your host such pain. The Creator of the Universe has a plan for you! Please be still and become.
"Not so said the tiny grain of sand I want to be in the Living Water and dwell on the floor of the great sea."
"Oh" said the oyster. "What you want is not what the creator has planned for you. You will see you are not as other tiny grains of sand. You are chosen for something greater, and with that the oyster blew his nacre over the tiny grain of sand, which pushed the tiny grain of sand in the middle of the oyster."
Immediately the tiny grain of sand became stronger because of the nacre. She asked the oyster, "what was that and why can't I move around freely any longer? Something is changing about me, I can feel it. What is this that you have covered me with?"
The tiny grain of sand felt beautiful for the first time in her life. She was radiant and her entire shape changed, she was not a jagged piece of sand anymore, she was smoother and rounder. She was comfortable and not fearful anymore. For the first time since arriving in the oyster's shell, she was calm and she stopped fighting. She yielded to her becoming.
Each time that the oyster partook of the Living Water the tiny grain of sand received the nacre from the oyster. Which is the substance that the Creator of the Universe had given to the oyster to help the tiny grain of sand become? She became stronger and stronger each time that the oyster partook of the Living Water.
One day the oyster noticed that the tiny grain of sand no longer irritated and hurt him so. The companionship of the tiny grain of sand brought joy instead of pain.
The tiny grain of sand was no longer rough; it had become a smooth brilliant round jewel. The oyster protected the beautiful jewel and he felt as the jewel adorned him and he wore her as a garment of joy before the Creator of the Universe.
The tiny grain of sand had become the beautiful jewel that the Creator of the Universe had intended all along. One day the oyster said to the beautiful pearl, "Do you see now after giving me so much pain and irritation that you have become the adorning pearl within me. What you thought was your prison is actually your palace of protection. You have become a beautiful pearl, a jewel before the Creator of the Universe in His Living Water. His plan for you was not to drift along the floor of the sea. His plan for you tiny grain of sand was to become a beautiful jewel before Him. Although it was a painful journey for me and for you, the end is beautiful."
The beautiful pearl just smiled and rested in the protection of her palace that the Creator of the Universe had chosen for her. She no longer tried to escape. She took great joy each time that the oyster partook of the Living Water and washed her with his nacre. She knew that this journey allowed her to grow and become. That the oyster was her safe haven; her palace and she became a pearl of great price before the Creator of the Universe.

44Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
45Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
46Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
