Scripture for the week of April 7, 2019

Because you love me, I will rescue you. I will protect you because you know my name. When you call to me, I will answer you. I will be with you when you are in trouble. I will save you and honor you. Psalm 91:14-15 (GW)

Isn’t it a wonderful feeling when you know you are loved? In loving relationships there is nothing we wouldn’t do for each other, especially when we receive a call for help. We will take food or clean a friends house in sickness and travel long distances to be with a hurting loved one. God shares His heart with us in these verses of how He responds to our love for Him! The Lord declares that He will rescue, protect, answer, save and honor us. What an encouragement to know that the Almighty God desires our expressions of love for Him even in our weakness, failures and imperfections! When we call out for God’s help in times of trouble, He says He will lovingly respond back to us and makes these promises to meet our specific needs just because He that knows we love Him! In these scriptures, God expresses His desire to demonstrate His love for you. How will you express your love for Him today?
