Scripture of the Week by JoBeth Kested

Scripture for the week of August 16, 2015
JoBeth57

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:31-33 (NKJV)

Do you ever get caught in the every day worries of home repairs, increasing grocery costs, what to wear, and the unexpected bills or other emergency demands? We are exhorted in these verses to not worry about any of these things and reminded that our Daddy God know and cares about all our needs. Verse 26 in the same chapter states: “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” How easy it is to struggle and strive trying fix everything ourselves and forgetting how precious we are to our miraculous and loving God, who is able to supply all our needs according to His riches in Glory. So, be encouraged to seek first the goodness and blessings of His Kingdom purposes for you with the assurance that He is more than able to “supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Phil 4:19). Thank You, Lord!
