Where Does Wisdom Begin by Beth Auman

Proverbs 4:7  (NABRE)The beginning of wisdom is: get wisdom;    whatever else you get, get understanding.

Proverbs 4:7  (VOICE)7 Gaining sound judgment is key, so first things first: go after Lady Wisdom!  Now, whatever else you do, follow through to understanding.

Wisdom is the primary thing and in all of our getting we must follow through to get understanding.

Have you ever been in a situation that was truly impossible?

I’ve been there myself and I cried out for Wisdom. I cried out to God because He said that if I asked for Wisdom, He would pour it out liberally. See the LORD IS Wisdom beyond measure.

Psalm 147:5 Great is our Lord, vast in power, with wisdom beyond measure. His Word says that if we ask that He will pour Wisdom out liberally. James 1:5 (NABRE) But if any of you lacks wisdom,[a] he should ask God who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and he will be given it.

We all need God’s Wisdom. First we must realize that there is only One God and He is the Father of Jesus who is LORD. Once this is established and we have asked Jesus to be our LORD and Savior then Adonai makes His Wisdom available to us. His Wisdom comes with much benefit.

Individually though we have a part. We must receive His Wisdom given and gain understanding by studying His Word, listning for His Voice and yielding ourselves fully to Him.  We gain understanding by being obedient to the Wisdom that He is pouring out.

In my own life I have come to realize that whenever I have asked for Wisdom, He brings Wisdom. With Wisdom, He has provided Revelation, Counsel, Might, Knowledge and the Fear of the LORD. Because He already knows all things. My part, our part is to continue on His well lit path and have faith that He has already provided the Way, Truth and Light – Jesus.

Adonai, We come before You today and repent for any time that You have provided Wisdom after we have cried out for it and did not gain understnaing. Lord, open the eyes of our understanding according to Your Word in Ephesians 1:17-23  (NABRE) 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation resulting in knowledge of him. 18 May the eyes of [your] hearts be enlightened, that you may know what is the hope that belongs to his call, what are the riches of glory in his inheritance among the holy ones, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of his power for us who believe, in accord with the exercise of his great might, 20 which he worked in Christ, raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in the heavens, 21 far above every principality, authority, power, and dominion, and every name that is named not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And he put all things beneath his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is his body,[a] the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.

May each and every one of us receive Your full benefit in finding Wisdom, gaining understanding by being filled completely with Your Holy Spirit in Jesus Name Amen

Isaiah 11:2 Tree of Life Version (TLV)The Ruach of Adonai will rest upon Him, the Spirit of  wisdom and insight, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Adonai.[a]

Proverbs 3:13-18  (NABRE)

The Benefits of Finding Wisdom[a]

13 Happy the one who finds wisdom,  the one who gains understanding! 14 Her profit is better than profit in silver,  and better than gold is her revenue; 15 She is more precious than corals,  and no treasure of yours can compare with her. 16 Long life is in her right hand,  in her left are riches and honor; 17 Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace; 18 She is a tree of life[b] to those who grasp her, and those who hold her fast are happy.
