Scripture of the Week by JoBeth Kested

Scripture for the week of December 22, 2019

God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. 1 John 4:9-10 (NLT)

Haven’t we all been captivated by stories of courage and bravery when we hear about someone giving their life to save a child, a friend or even a stranger? God sent Jesus, His only son, as a innocent baby. He would grow up to suffer death on the cross that we may live. No matter how hard we try, we are never able to work hard enough, to be good enough or to love God enough to deserve the sacrifice Jesus was willing to make for us. He paid the price for the forgiveness of our sins with hope for all eternity. He also gives us the gift of His comfort, peace and love through the joys and sorrows in this life. What an extravagant demonstration of His great love for us! In this Christmas season of shopping, parties and family gatherings for sharing gifts, let us not forget the reason for the season and the greatest gift of God’s love for us in Jesus. Glory to God in the highest!

Light of The World Shine Shine Shine

As Hanukkah approaches and we prepare our hearts to celebrate the Light of the World, may we all take a moment to read these Scriptures below out loud to the LORD.

Ephesians 5:13-14  (CJB) 13 But everything exposed to the light is revealed clearly for what it is, 14 since anything revealed is a light. This is why it says,

“Get up, sleeper! Arise from the dead, and the Messiah will shine on you!”

John 8:12 (CJB)12 Yeshua spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world; whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light which gives life.”

John 12:36  (CJB)36 While you have the light, put your trust in the light, so that you may become people of light.” Yeshua said these things, then went off and kept himself hidden from them.

John 12:46 (CJB)46 I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who trusts in me might not remain in the dark.

Psalm 18:29  (CJB) 29 (28) “For you, Adonai, light my lamp; Adonai, my God, lights up my darkness.

Psalm 27:1  (CJB) 27 (0) By David: (1) Adonai is my light and salvation; whom do I need to fear? Adonai is the stronghold of my life; of whom should I be afraid?

Psalm 43:3  (CJB) Send out your light and your truth; let them be my guide; let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the places where you live.

Psalm 112:4  (CJB) To the upright he shines like a light in the dark, merciful, compassionate and righteous.

Please say this out loud with me in the unity of faith in the Name above all names Yeshua Messiah (Jesus):

Adonai, it is our hearts desire to have any darkness exposed to Your Light. We invite and receive Your Light, Yeshua our Messiah (Jesus). We know that once we allow Your Light to shine, darkness cannot abide. There are things that are out of order in this world and we cry out to You today, shine brightly upon each of us.  Expose and burn up any hidden thing within each of us. May Your light shine through each of us so brightly that we actually see the lost come and ask”how might we be saved.” Give each of us the opportunity LORD MOST HIGH to lead the lost to Yeshua our Messiah (Jesus),The Light of the World. Call out to these who are ready for your harvest LORD, “Get up, sleeper! Arise from the dead, and the Messiah will shine on you!” Amen and Amen
Hanukkah Blessings to each of you. Love Beyond Measure,
Beth Auman
