Learning to Decree In The Era 5780 – 5789

By Beth Auman and JoBeth Kested

This is the Era to Decree. When we entered the year 5780 in the Jewish calendar, we entered the decade linked to the letter “Pey” in the Hebraic alphabet, which is symbolic of an open mouth and implies “to speak or to decree.” To decree is a governmental declaration that is backed by authority to command enforcement of a judicial decision or royal edict. It’s important for us to walk circumspectly with confidence in our authority to proclaim and to make declarations or to decree God’s Kingdom purposes on our Quest of the Overcomers. Let us take a journey through the Holy Word revealed in our Bibles and learn how to decree by allowing Yeshua, Jesus – The Word to impart His truth with understanding to help us increase in our authority to decree.

The Deity of Jesus Christ: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1 (NASB)

We must grasp that The LORD saw fit to bestow upon us to be the representatives of His voice in this earth and to receive revelation understanding of His will as we walk in relationship with Him. He has granted us His authority with anointing by the Holy Spirit to decree into every situation that He reveals before us to speak and to decree His will.

Let’s consider some scriptures to lay some foundations for further clarity. In the beginning Adonai spoke, He decreed light to be and it was.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.” Genesis 1:1-3 NASB

In the New American Standard Bible “God said,” appears 46 times. Let’s take a journey through His Holy Word, receiving an impartation of what “God said.” The reason that Adonai gave us a voice was for us to be speaking beings, made in His likeness, to decree into this realm under His authority to extend His Kingdom earth. Yeshua (Jesus) taught us how to decree as we pray, “Thy Kingdom come” in Matthew 6:9-13.

“Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [ For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’ ]” Matthew 6:9-13 NASB

Our voices were not just created for conversation but for legislation and it is the time for us to step into a new level in this Quest of the Overcomers to legislate in agreement with God’s will and to watch Him manifest His will through our decrees. There are many ways that God sent His Word to manifest His will on this earth. He spoke directly into the earth and the earth formed. He spoke to light and light was. He separated things, created vegetation, animals and man in decrees through His spoken Word.

Our mandate to extend God’s authority on earth is recorded in Genesis 1:26.

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26 NASB

Yes, Adam and Eve failed, but Elohim – The Creator God, spoke and revealed His will to man. He also spoke through dreams and angelic visitations to direct the affairs of men. And, He appeared before His chosen vessels, speaking to them directly, to bring forth His Kingdom to come upon the earth. Adonai changed the name of Abram to Abraham, and Jacob to Israel in order for them to decree to change for the manifestation of His Kingdom purposes into their circumstances.

The Covenant Renewed: Then God said, “Behold, I am going to make a covenant. Before all your people I will perform miracles which have not been produced in all the earth nor among any of the nations; and all the people among whom you live will see the working of the Lord, for it is a fearful thing that I am going to perform with you. Exodus 34:10 NASB

In this verse, Adonai renewed His Covenant and said it is a fearful thing that He is going to perform in us. We must regard the manifestation of the Spirit, in the fear of The LORD to work within us as we learn to decree His Word on earth within our sphere of circumstances.

Adonai gave personal instruction to those whom He loved in order for them to manifest His Word. One specific example is when David inquired again of God, and God spoke specific  directions to him. We can see how our obedience and agreement with God’s spoken Word extends God’s Kingdom jurisdiction in our real circumstances.

David inquired again of God, and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them; circle around behind them and come at them in front of the balsam trees. It shall be when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then you shall go out to battle, for God will have gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”1 Chronicles 14:14-15 NASB

In Exodus chapter 20 Adonai speaks forth The Ten Commandments that established His Kingdom jurisdiction of laws for His people to live by. As we pursue our relationship with Adonai, knowing His law, knowing His will and knowing His assignments for us to extend His Kingdom on earth, we can decree in boldness, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

Then God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before Me. “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

“You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.

“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath of the LORD your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you.

“You shall not murder.

“You shall not commit adultery.

“You shall not steal.

“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” Exodus 20:1-17 NASB

God sent Yeshua, Jesus – The Word that was made flesh. He came speaking and decreeing God’s will to His people. Through His shed blood on the cross, Yeshua redeemed fallen man and declared His Kingdom has come on earth. He restored our rightful place in relationship with God the Father; in ability, anointing and authority for Genesis 1:26 to manifest on His earth through our spoken decrees in agreement with His will..

“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus… For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:6, 10 NIV

Please take time, as you continue with us on this Quest of the Overcomers, to ask Adonai to open the eyes of your understanding in studying His Word to reveal Himself to you and to unlock within you His power and authority to decree and fulfill your personal destiny on earth. Every time that you see injustice, sadness, poverty, evil, etc, ask Adonai for the Word that He needs you to decree that will fell the enemy in each specific situation.

This is our decree over your life in the name of Yeshua.

“You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And light will shine on your ways.” Job 22:28 NASB

Make this decree over your life, “I decree in Jesus’ name that not one Word that Adonai has prepared for me to decree will fall to the ground from my silence.”

Lord God Almighty, we pray in agreement with Your Word, in the name of Yeshua, according to Acts 4:31 “And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.” (NASB) We receive You Holy Spirit, come and fill us to overflowing that we may speak the Word of God with boldness. May not one word that You have for us to decree fall to the ground from silence in my Overcoming Journey. We pray and decree according to Your will, “Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your will be done, on earth and in our lives according to Your will as it is in heaven. In Yeshua’s name, Amen and Amen!”
