Have you ever felt that you are not good enough to approach God or that you somehow must try to “clean up your act” before trying to talk to Him. If most of us were honest, we probably imagine God sitting on His throne just waiting to “throw the book at us” in terrifying judgement and is ready to roll out some long list of everything we have ever done wrong. What a drastically different and liberating picture is given to us in this scripture that instructs us to boldly enter into the awesome and majestic throne room of our God from where He rules the universe. How wonderful to realize that because of Jesus we are invited into the His presence, to crawl into His lap, where we will receive mercy instead of judgement with unmerited favor and help when we are in our most desperate need. Thank you Father God for grace!
