Scripture Of The Week By JoBeth Kested

Scripture for the week of June 2, 2024
By JoBeth Kested

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 2 Peter 1:2 (NKJV)

Are you in need of abundant grace and peace? Grace is undeserved favor and divine assistance. Peace is tranquility, harmony and freedom from disturbance or affliction. The Biblical definition of knowledge is based on understanding from experience. This verse exhorts us that the more we increase in knowing our Father God, and our Savior Jesus, the more His grace and peace will increase in our lives. Like the Hebrews in the wilderness that had to gather fresh manna each day, Jesus is the Bread of Life that God has provided for us to that we need to seek new each day. Whatever we may have experienced of God’s love, mercy, forgiveness and provision in the past, be encouraged to KNOW that as we seek to know Him more each day we’ll never exhaust the supply His sufficient favor, divine assistance, and peace that passes understanding. May His grace and peace be multiplied to you today.

Scripture for the week of May 26, 2024

Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. Isaiah 46:9 (NIV)

Have you heard the saying,”You can’t know where you are going unless you know where you came from”? When we remember the stories of those before us that overcame great trials, handicaps, poverty, and wars we are encouraged that we can also overcome the trials before us. Likewise, God instructs us in this scripture to remember the former things. In the midst of our current needs and busyness, have we forgotten the answered prayers and miracles we’ve experienced or learned in the past that will inspire our faith to trust God today? Twice God declares that He alone is God and there is none like Him! Let us remember there is no other God whose very nature is love, extends mercy, offers peace, forgives sin, heals diseases, saves the lost, wipes away all our tears and knows the number of hairs on our heads! Yet, He is the King of Kings, Lord of Lords and commands the angelic armies of heaven. There is no other God like our God!

Scripture of the week for May 12, 2024

For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:11-12 (NIV)

Have you ever heard someone say, “I love you to the moon and back” in effort to express the greatness of their love? God declares the magnitude of His love for as there is no end to the height of the heavens above the earth. You may need to ask, “What does it mean to fear the Lord?” It simply means great reverence and awe for the Almighty-Omnipotent-Creator-Ruler God of the universe and to acknowledge that He is the Lord over us individually, as well. When we choose to fear the Lord and receive His gift of salvation, His lovingkindness removes the consequences of our failure to meet His standards of holiness and perfection as far from us as the east is from the west! How wonderful it is to understand that east and west never ever meet! May we choose the fear of the Lord and experience God’s extravagant love for us that is over the rainbow, beyond the moon and to the height of the heavens!

Wholeheartedly Give Thanks To Adonai

Psalm 111 CJB

111 Halleluyah!

I will wholeheartedly give thanks to Adonai
in the council of the upright and in the assembly.
The deeds of Adonai are great,
greatly desired by all who enjoy them.
His work is full of majesty and splendor,
and his righteousness continues forever.
He has gained renown for his wonders.
Adonai is merciful and compassionate.
He gives food to those who fear him.
He remembers his covenant forever.
He shows his people how powerfully he works
by giving them the nations as their heritage.
The works of his hands are truth and justice;
all his precepts can be trusted.
They have been established forever and ever,
to be carried out truly and honestly.
He sent redemption to his people
and decreed that his covenant should last forever.
His name is holy and fearsome —
10 the first and foremost point of wisdom is the fear of Adonai;
all those living by it gain good common sense.
His praise stands forever.

Amen! Give thanks wholeheartedly because Adonai’s deeds are great and Greatly to be praised! His name is fearsome. We must remember always that the first and foremost point of wisdom is the fear of Adonai. That is where common sense comes from and wow do we all need common sense.

If you see someone with no common sense, they obviously the fear of Adonai isn’t operating within them. Pray for them, but do not connect yourself to them. Remember this.

The works of his hands are truth and justice; all his precepts can be trusted.
8 They have been established forever and ever, to be carried out truly and honestly.

We need His Truth and Justice right now in this world. Cry out with me today!

Adonai, I Trust You and I fear You. I give You all praise, honor and glory in Yeshua’s Name. May Psalm 111 be made manifest in our lives today. Amen

Passover 5784 Blessings

Passover begins tonight at sundown. Nissan 14, 5784  (April 22,2024) and continues until Nissan 22,5784 (April 30,2024) at sundown.

Apply the Blood of The Lamb Yeshua our Messiah over your doorpost freshly and declare, “I have been redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb! Out of the hand of the enemy!” In Yeshua’s Name – The Name above all other names. Philippians 2:9-11 CJB  Therefore God raised him to the highest place and gave him the name above every name; 10 that in honor of the name given Yeshua, every knee will bow — in heaven, on earth and under the earth — 11 and every tongue will acknowledge[a] that Yeshua the Messiah is Adonai — to the glory of God the Father.

Tell YHWH that you want to embrace His Passover. Ask Him to lead you into Passover and to expose whatever you need to Passover.. apply Yeshua’s blood over your doorposts, place Yeshua’s Name over it (that thing). Decree daily the Name above every name “Yeshua” over that thing, step forward and Passover it during this next 8 days.

Passover is a state of moving forward from one place to another new place. To leave behind things that cannot come with you into the New. Placing Yeshua’s blood on the doorposts of your home, yourself and everything that pertains to you is the only way to truly Passover.

So, enter in tonight. Embrace Passover and know that this is the actual time that Yeshua died and rose again.

In our book Quest of the Overcomers, read Nissan and answer the questions at the end of the chapter.

Ask God to open your eyes to see His Passover clearly.

Read Exodus 12 and Luke 12

Scripture for the week of April 21, 2024

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2 NIV

Have you ever felt like a square peg trying to fit into a round hole? Do you have the repetitive lies of the world going round and round in your head: “Not qualified, not smart, not pretty, too fat or too old”? Maybe it is time to heed the advice of this scripture and to stop trying to conform to the self demeaning standards of this world. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Believe you are who God says you are; accepted in the beloved, (Eph 1:6) fearfully and wonderfully made, (Ps 139:14) child of God, (John 1:12) and that your gifts make room for you (Pr 18:16). The more we focus on who God says we are the more we will clearly discern His good, pleasing and perfect will for us. Oh Lord, renew our minds with the washing of Your Word that we might find our perfect place in Your will. Amen.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

Do you find it difficult to trust others because of past betrayal, rejection or abandonment? You may remember a time as a child when your Dad encouraged you to leap and to trust that he would catch you; or being blindfolded to trust someone else to lead you in the hope that they would not let you stumble or fall. When others have failed us and we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel we don’t have to struggle and strive to figure it all out when we don’t know what to do. When there is no light of understanding before us we are exhorted to put ALL our trust in the Lord; in His loving, compassionate, goodness and grace. Our Father God is always there to heal our hearts, to catch us and to guide us when our hopes have crumbled and we can’t see the way ahead. We can trust the Lord to direct our paths for His love never fails. Amen!

Scripture OF the Week by JoBeth Kested

Scripture for the week of March 31, 2024

Jesus… asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Matthew 16:13-17 (NIV)

Throughout the last 2000 years the question is still being asked, “Who is Jesus?”. Many are still saying that he was a good man or spiritual teacher, while others say he was a prophet. In these verses Jesus goes on to commend Simon Peter for declaring the truth that He is the Messiah. Jesus acknowledges here in this scripture and many other verses that He is the Son of God and also declares in John 14:6 that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life; that no one comes to the Father accept through Him. We don’t get the option to believe that Jesus is just a good man, a teacher, or one of many prophets. We must face the fact that He is either a liar, a lunatic or the Lord as He says He is. Jesus is still asking each of us the question, “Who do you say that I am?” This Easter morning, do you know Him as the promised Messiah and the risen Lord resurrected from the grave? To all who believe, He is still showing The Way, The Truth, and The Life. He Is Risen, He Is Risen Indeed!

But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” Lamentations 3:20-24 (ESV)

Do you ever struggle to find your faith to trust God in the midst of overwhelming situations? It can be especially hard when it seems like the cries of your prayers bounce off the ceiling and all you hear is silence. In the verses before these scriptures, the Prophet Jeremiah describes in great detail his sufferings and that he feels like God caused it all. He was not afraid to talk to God about his disillusionment, frustrations and anguish. But, he then reminds himself of God’s love, mercies and faithfulness in the past. How amazing that even though the circumstances have not changed, Jeremiah is able to declare with renewed hope that the Lord is all he needs! Take your list of problems to God today and pour out your doubts, fears and sorrows. Then, be encouraged with new hope recalling all of the Lord’s unshakeable love, unending mercies and great faithfulness to you always. Selah! (Ponder and think on these things.)
