Trust in Adonai

What Is Written on the Tablet of Your Heart?

“Trust in Adonai with all your heart,
lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your paths straight.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6 (TLV)

These are some of the most familiar words in Proverbs.

We quote them. We memorize them. We place them on walls and Scripture cards.

Trust in Adonai with all your heart.

But when we read these verses within the fullness of Proverbs 3, something beautiful begins to unfold.

The chapter does not begin with the instruction to trust.

It begins with the instruction to remember.

“My son, do not forget my teaching,
but let your heart keep my mitzvot.
For length of days and years of life,
and shalom they will add to you.
Let kindness and truth never leave you—
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.”
— Proverbs 3:1–3 (TLV)

Do not forget My teaching.

There is something deeply personal for me in those words.

Romans 10:17 has long been one of my life Scriptures:

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Messiah.”
— Romans 10:17 (TLV)

Abba created me with an extraordinary ability to remember things I have heard. There are times when something spoken years earlier seems to rise from the database of my mind in remarkable order precisely when it is needed.

Because of that, I understand Romans 10:17 very personally.

But I also understand the responsibility it carries.

What am I hearing?

What am I allowing to enter?

What am I storing?

What am I allowing to be written upon the tablet of my heart?

Because what we continually receive eventually becomes part of what we carry.

Bind Them Around Your Neck

Proverbs continues:

“Let kindness and truth never leave you—bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.”

Stop right there.

His Word should adorn us.

What a beautiful picture.

There is also a fascinating visual observation concerning the Hebrew Aleph-Bet and the Magen David—the Star of David. The shapes of the Hebrew letters can be represented using line segments found within its geometric structure.

When I first saw this illustrated, it caused me to stop and ponder again the extraordinary beauty and structure of the Hebrew language through which so much of Scripture was originally given.

But Proverbs takes us beyond something we can see with our eyes.

It tells us:

“Write them on the tablet of your heart.”

Ponder that for a moment.

Scripture describes the heart as a place upon which something can be written.

So what is written there?

The Tablet of Your Heart

This brings us directly back to our foundational Scripture:

“Trust in Adonai with all your heart,
lean not on your own understanding.”

What we truly believe is revealed by what has taken root within our hearts.

Yeshua tells us:

“For from the overflow of the heart his mouth speaks.”
— Luke 6:45 (TLV)

These Scriptures illuminate one another.

What has been written upon the heart eventually finds its way to the mouth.

That gives us a very practical way to examine ourselves.

What am I speaking?

When pressure comes, what comes out of my mouth?

When circumstances do not make sense, what do I say?

When fear knocks at the door, what do I declare?

When I cannot see what Adonai is doing, do I immediately lean upon my own understanding?

Or does something already written deeply within my heart rise up and say:

I trust You, Adonai.

Now Proverbs 3:5–6 comes into marvelous light.

Trust is not merely something we say when everything makes sense.

Trust becomes visible when we do not understand—and still choose to acknowledge Him.

When Adonai Seems Silent

Have you ever noticed that while you are walking with Adonai, there can be seasons when He seems so very quiet?

You pray.

You listen.

You ask questions.

Are You there, Adonai?

And there seems to be silence.

Even the still, small voice you have learned to recognize may seem difficult to hear.

I have experienced those times.

I believe some can become testing times—not necessarily because every silence means that Adonai is testing us, but because silence reveals something within us:

Will I continue trusting what He has already spoken when I do not yet have another answer?

He promised never to leave nor forsake us.

So when I cannot hear Him clearly, I return to what He has already written upon my heart.

You are here.

When I cannot understand:

I trust You.

When I cannot see where the path is leading:

I trust You.

When I do not have the answer:

I acknowledge You.

And sometimes obedience becomes very simple.

Keep walking.

Do not turn to the right.

Do not turn to the left.

Continue upon the well-lit path He has already placed before you.

In All Your Ways Acknowledge Him

There are times when I must use my own voice to bring my heart back into alignment with His Word.

I acknowledge You, Adonai, in all of my ways.

I set my will to remain upon Your path.

I choose to trust You with all of my heart.

I choose not to lean upon my own understanding.

This is where a prayer I have prayed continually becomes very practical.

Ask Him to lead you—and trust Him to lead you.

Ask Him to guide you—and trust Him to guide you.

Ask Him to guard you—and trust Him to guard you.

Ask Him to protect you—and trust Him to protect you.

Ask Him to provide for you—and trust Him to provide for you.

Ask Him to align you—and trust Him to align you.

Ask Him to assign you—and trust Him with the assignment.

There comes a point when prayer must become trust.

We cannot ask Adonai to lead us and then spend every moment terrified that He has abandoned the path.

We acknowledge Him.

We listen.

We obey what He has already revealed.

And when we do not understand, we trust the One who does.

What Is Written There?

Perhaps that is the question Proverbs 3 places before us.

What is written on the tablet of your heart?

Fear?

Disappointment?

The opinions of others?

Past wounds?

Your own understanding?

Or has His Word been written there so deeply that when circumstances shake you, His truth is what rises to the surface?

Yeshua said that from the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.

Listen to what your mouth has been saying.

Not so that you can condemn yourself.

Listen so that you can recognize what may need to be brought before Abba.

If fear is overflowing, bring Him the fear.

If bitterness is overflowing, bring Him the bitterness.

If unbelief is overflowing, bring Him the unbelief.

And then return to His Word.

Hear it.

Speak it.

Remember it.

Allow His truth to be written more deeply upon your heart.

Because faith comes by hearing—and hearing by the Word of Messiah.

And from a heart filled with His truth can come the declaration:

I trust You, Adonai.

Reflection

What has my mouth been speaking lately, and what might those words reveal about what is stored within my heart?

Am I acknowledging Adonai in all my ways, or is there an area where I am still leaning primarily upon my own understanding?

Is there something Abba has already taught me that I need to remember today?

Have I asked Him to lead, guide, guard, protect, provide, align, or assign me while still struggling to trust Him to do exactly that?

What truth from His Word do I need to intentionally write upon the tablet of my heart?

A Prayer at the Gate

Abba,

Thank You for Your Word.

Let me not forget what You have taught me.

Write Your truth deeply upon the tablet of my heart until Your Word becomes the truth by which I think, speak, choose, and walk.

Guard what I hear and what I allow to take root within me.

When I cannot understand, teach me to trust.

When I cannot see the way forward, remind me that You can.

When You seem silent, keep me from abandoning what You have already spoken.

I acknowledge You in all of my ways.

Lead me—and I will trust You to lead.
Guide me—and I will trust You to guide.
Guard me—and I will trust You to guard.
Protect me—and I will trust You to protect.
Provide for me—and I will trust You to provide.
Align me—and I will trust You to align.
Assign me—and I will trust You with the assignment.

Let kindness and truth never leave me.

May Your Word adorn my life and remain written upon my heart.

And when my heart overflows, may my mouth testify to Your faithfulness.

I choose to trust You, Adonai, with all my heart.

I will not lean upon my own understanding.

Make my path straight according to Your will.

May every step, every word, and every testimony bring all Glory, Praise, and Honor to Your Name Alone.

In Hebrew the word Joy means the Justice of YHVH.

True Joy comes through YHVH’s Justice.

Embrace this in every situation in your life.

We do this by submitting unto YHVH in Yeshua’s Name.

  • 7 Therefore submit to God. But resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. James 4:7-10 TLV

May the JOY of YHVH be evident in your life. In Yeshua’s Name

Most importantly know that Yeshua Is the ultimate Justice of YHVH.

Thanksgiving Day Blessings

Giving Thanks is our privilege, however, only when we choose to make Thanksgiving our priority, then our breakthrough comes.

Thanksgiving is a three part word in Hebrew and in YHVH’s Kingdom, understanding the root of where Kingdom words open up Kingdom principles so that we can move forward.

Today, the day that the USA celebrates Thanksgiving. We must go to the root of the matter. We are Kingdom people and we are Thankful to YHVH for all that we have. Even the hard things that we have to walk through. The Apostle Paul said in

  • 1 Thessalonians 5:18 – KJV 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Today, Todah – Offer Thanks (realization that there is something to be thankful for, even if it is hard), raise your hands and give Thanks to the One God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. YHVH our Elohim is so worthy!

Hodaya – Give Thanks – verbally with your voice to the Eternal Creator of the universe because He Is Good.

HaKarat Ha Tov – Thanksgiving is a Revelation of the Good, focusing on The Good (YHVH)  has given because God alone is Good and He has given us all something to be Thankful for.

We must choose to recognize the Good and not set our focus on what is not good. As we receive the Revelation of Thankfulness we can HaKarat Ha Tov – willingly Give Thanks with our grateful hearts because we see clearly that God is Good and worthy of all Thanksgiving.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever. To him who alone does great wonders, His love endures forever. Psalm 136:1-4 (NIV)

What would you answer if asked what is your greatest need or desire? Most would acknowledge the deepest longingly our hearts is to be loved. We all long for and cherish the loving relationships of family and friends. We are encouraged in these scriptures to give thanks to The Lord, God of gods, and Lord of lords because His love endures forever. In this Psalm, there are twenty-six declarations that His love endures forever after verses extolling the majesty of God’s creation, His awesome wonders, His mighty power and extravagant mercy. During this season of Thanksgiving we often remember and share the many things we have to be thankful for. It is also good to be reminded how blessed we are and to give thanks that The Lord God Almighty is good, He does great wonders and His steadfast love for us endures forever!

Blessed Are The Peacemakers

Personally, I want to be called God’s child. I also desire greatly to find out exactly how Blessed peacemakers are. God’s Word is True and He is faithful!

Abba, open the eyes of our understanding that we may become the  peacemaker’s that You will Bless, calling us Your child.  May we also learn to honor all of those peacemaker’s in our lives, our country and our world, honoring them and speaking forth Your Blessings.

May we also see clearly those who are not for peace. Those selfish strife causers that are in truth against You and aligned with the antichrist spirit yet pretending to be peace lovers. Expose every single one of these Abba, make it plain to us. May we always be found on Your side of Peace in Yeshua’s Name Amen! Amen! Amen!

Those Beautiful RED Words

I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him [a]bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown away like a branch and dries up; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you remain in Me, and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so[b]prove to be My disciples. 9 Just as the Father has loved Me, I also have loved you; remain in My love.10 If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. 11 These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.

Questions to ask yourself. Are you a branch firmly attached to The Vine?

Are you bearing much fruit?

Is His joy in you full?

Answer honestly and ask Abba to bring His Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) to fill you, lead, guard and guide you through His Word (Jesus) into all Truth.

Yeshua (Jesus) IS LORD of all or not lord at all.

Declaration: Abba, I declare that Yeshua (Jesus) is LORD of my life today. I am a branch on the vine and I receive Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) today. Fill me, lead me, guide me, protect me and provide for me as I firmly declare that I am a branch on the true vine Yeshua (Jesus)! Amen

Jesus… asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Matthew 16:13-17 (NIV)

Throughout the last 2000 years the question is still being asked, “Who is Jesus?” Many are still saying that he was a good man or spiritual teacher, while others say he was a prophet. In these verses Jesus goes on to commend Simon Peter for declaring the truth that He is the Messiah. Jesus acknowledges here in this scripture and many other verses that He is the Son of God. He also declares in John 14:6 that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life; that no one comes to the Father accept through Him. We don’t get the option to believe that Jesus is just a good man, a teacher, or one of many prophets. We must face the fact that He is either a liar, a lunatic or the Lord as He says He is. Jesus is still asking each of us the question, “Who do you say that I am?” This Easter morning, do you know Him as the promised Messiah and the son of God resurrected from the grave? To all who believe, He is still revealing that He is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. He Is Risen, He Is Risen Indeed!

“There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides across the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, ‘Destroy them!’ Deuteronomy 33:26-27 (NIV)

Have you ever felt the heavy weight of discouragement in trying to stand in the battles for what is righteous, honorable and true? The word Jeshurun in this verse is often used instead of the name Israel, God’s chosen people, and also implies one who is straight, upright and just. Therefore, this scripture exhorts us that the God of those who stand upright and straight for justice, His chosen ones, He will ride the winds of the clouds across the heavens in all of His majestic power to come to your help. He declares that He is your secure refuge and that He upholds you close to His heart in the everlasting strength of His arms; defending you in battle and promising to destroy your enemies! Be encouraged, for truly, there is no one like our God!

Abba, we come before Your throne of grace today and declare that we are glad in You Lord! We rejoice and shout for joy!  We are Blessed because You have forgiven our transgressions and our sins are covered by Jesus blood. You made a way. Only You! We trust in You! We have confessed and been forgiven and we Praise You! We raise our Hallelujah!!

“You are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “and My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, nor shall there be after Me. Isaiah 43:10 NKJV

Have you ever considered that there is a big difference between “believing in God” verses “believing God?” Believing in God allows us to believe what we want to believe about God as we attempt to fit Him into the box of our own preferences and understanding. Believing God means we have chosen to acknowledge the absolute sovereignty of the Bible, believing God is Who He says He is and also believing that He will do what He says He will do. God declares in this verse that He has chosen us even before we choose Him! He invites us to “know” Him in an intimate personal relationship that opens the eyes of our understanding with the ability to BELIEVE that He is the one and only true GOD that always was, always is and always will be! Lord, I believe, help me where I still have unbelief. Let your light so shine through me that others also see and believe. Praise the Lord!
